Apple has acquired "Particle", a San Francisco based company according to a report from CNET.
Particle was founded in 2008 and it specializes in Web applications and marketing projects using HTML5. One of its creations, social video service Robo.to received short funds from Pop star-turned-actor Justin Timberlake. Sources with knowledge of the deal did not know the selling price.

Particle was founded in early 2008, the company had done HTML5 work for Google, Motorola, Amazon, Yahoo, Sony, and Apple. It has also created some 'labs' projects including Intervue.me.

Apple has now put a big focus on HTML5 on its product pages, iAd advertising, iCloud etc.
