I guess if you want to save money the best preference is using Vo-ip based services like viber, Talkatone incase both of the ends have a good smartphone with internet.
Otherwise you can check some other plans from your operator for ISD calls to India.
Otherwise trust me use Magic Jack device i am sure it will save lot of your money. :)
